Animated Exeter

Sign in Exeter

A good weekend at Exeter Phoenix as part of Animated Exeter. The Phoenix seems really buzzing and it was a good space to be in.

Thanks especially to the technical crew who we made stay up till stupid o clock whilst we set up on Friday.

We were also very impressed by the Forkbeard Fantasy exhibition they had showing there.

New AV Arcade Table

AV Table

I've acquired another Arcade Table from Dan at surface-tension.net and will soon be converting it to be another AV Mixer.

It's going to be available for sale (I don't need two) so if you want it, get in touch.

This one has a different look to the last and also has a trackball

I have also purchased a coin mechanism for the original mixer and plan to put it in a live music venue. News coming soon....

PVA Residency - Wireless Orchestra Project

I did a week long residency at local media centre PVA and made a Wireless Orchestra of Game Controllers.

Using two wireless gamepads and 2 Wii remotes, players can form there own impromtu digital jam band.

One controls drums, one bass and the other two various synths, samples and vocals.

It's a bit chaotic at present but I'm going to be working on it up to its inaugural performance at Bridport Electric Palace on December 21st.

The visuals below are by Andy Hawthorne. Thanks!

The Fringe Event at 333 organised by our friends from Cybersonica.A top night and good fun had by all.

Iit featured several multimedia installations including our Pacbike and AV Arcade Table (below)

Portsmouth Film Festival

We were invited back to Palmerston Rd, Southsea for the Street Screen Event.

We put the marquee up in the shopping centre and treated shoppers to the Digital Funfair experience.

Alot of our visitors hadn't expected us to be there and it was good to see people say "I only came to go to the shops and I've seen all this!"

Boredbrand Summer 2007

The Summer Season is now over and a pretty mad one it was too. We had a great time, were very popular and made loads of new mates!

The addition of the Table Tennis table went down a treat and the AV Arcade Table was very popular too!

The Bluetooth Gallery was also more popular than ever before - maybe the technology has caught up with us - or people have worked out how to use their phones.

Thanks to everyone who helped us out over the summer especially Nancy, Keith, Mark, Matt and Adam. Plus also Mike Cupcake for the new jigsaw samples.

Now its time for a website update, to make some new stuff and get on with some commissions which have been on the backburner for ages.

Please check out the Gallery to see pictures of this years events.

Digital Funfair on the South Bank

We were commissioned by the South Bank to build a version of the Virtual Coconut Shy for the re-opening of the Royal Festival Hall.

Despite being censored at the eleventh hour for alledged misogyny, the installation was popular with the public and an outstanding success.

Mash Up Event At The Dana Centre

I was invited to the Dana centre to be part of their evening about Mash Up Culture.

I took along the Beat Jigsaw and did a short A/V Performance.

Headlining the evening were Eclectic Method - kings of video mash up

AV Arcade Table at Cybersonica

The Soundwaves exhibition was a resounding success and the AV Arcade Table proved popular throughout the six week exhibition.

Thanks to both the Cybersonica team for all their hard work and the Kinetica team for being so relaxed.
